Benefice Lent Course. Why Calvary?:

The Mid Test Benefice Council meeting on 22 January agreed that there would be a Lent Course, led by David Stone (Mottisfont) on the following days. There will be a Lent Lunch at the beginning and end sessions.   The remaining dates are:

Tuesday 5th March. Mottisfont House 10-45am-12-00noon.
Tuesday 19th March. St Marys' Church,   Broughton 10-45am-12-00noon.
Tuesday 2nd April. St Marys' Church, Longstock. 10-45am – 1.00pm
Tuesday 16th April. Pound House, Mottisfont,10-45am-13-00 pm with Lent Lunch.

This will be a fortnightly Bible Study to help prepare us for, and lead us to the pinnacle of the Christian year, the Cross of Redemption the Victory of the risen Christ.   The main question – why did God the Father resort to the sacrificial death of his Son Jesus, in order to provide the world with a gateway to salvation? Why the suffering of Christ? Why the suffering of the two millennia that have since passed. Where does this lead?
